BongBongQuayQuay has emerged at the vanguard of a new generation of Vietnamese DJs who are carving their own unique approach to dance floor ignition — unfazed by genre-based preconceptions of what makes a party move, her eclectic taste is channelled through a prowess behind the decks that delivers a constantly-evolving energy flow. Combining her wide influences from across the continuums of house, techno and disco — with frequent detours into unexpected leftfield constellations — her unique sonic aesthetic has established her as a regional tastemaker and frequent feature on lineups across Asia. As a resident of The Observatory in HCMC, BBQQ’s distinctive sound has found its place to experiment multiple nights a month, allowing her dreamy daytime character to carve fresh nocturnal narratives guided by her experiences with art, photography and fashion. You’ll also see her playing venues such as Savage in Hanoi, as well many more locally sourced parties and festivals including Equation, Snug, Objoff, Atipik and Studio Adventure. She also recently participated in Prada Extends Bangkok 2023 — a series of live events travelling across global destinations, created with and curated by British-Canadian electronic musician Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman —- who uses the unique, universal connection of music to unite different cultures and geographies in conversation.

Tourguide

Member of Equation’s resident team, Nhat-Vu Dang is a Vietnamese Jewellery designer born in the Netherlands. In his spare time he is an avid music digger whose hobby flourished after he moved to Berlin in 2012. His eclectic sound ranges from psychedelic rock, to electronic and ambient music. In his sets Tourguide will take you to the highest peaks of the mountains to the deepest waters of the oceans.

TaoFu

TaoFu has been a regular dancer & music lover for the underground beats since day one. She has attended many events in Vietnam before actually stepping into the game and becoming a DJ. Having only started DJing in 2020, TaoFu has already gained significant recognition for her skills, which have earned her a resident DJ title at The Observatory Saigon and also a member of ATIPIK Collective. Her DJ sets pull selections from House, Electro, and techno genres, aiming to deliver an unpredictable sound experience for all music lovers. Expect the unexpected when TaoFu steps into the booth.

Alex Kassian

Alex Kassian is a producer, DJ and artist from Kyoto, now based in Berlin, where hesplits his days equally between making music and astral projection.Alex’s sound is sophisticated and precise (he previously worked on soundtracks forcontemporary dance and theatre); it’s also lush and organic, cinematic and uplifting,bursting with optimism and energy, informed by spontaneity and improvisation andspecifically designed to promote the kind of out-of-body experiences demandedby discerning ravers across the universe.As a solo artist, Alex has released on a number of labels here on Earth includingParamida’s Love On The Rocks and Alex Bradley’s Utopia Records. Together withHiroaki OBA, he is also one half of Opal Sunn, who operate their own imprint PlanetSundae since 2017, through which they self-released a number of EPs, catching theattention of and support from dance music luminaries such as Andrew Weatheralland DJ Sprinkles.In 2018 they released their first EP Parallax on Nick Höppner’s label Touch From ADistance, and in 2019 and early 2020 took their live show on tour around Europeand Asia, with stops everywhere from Field Manoeuvres festival to The Observatoryin Saigon and Panorama Bar in Berlin. Their second release, Laika, came out onTouch From A Distance in 2020, shortly followed by Alex’s first solo outing on LoveOn The Rocks, Oolong Trance.

Hocking

DJ based in Hanoi. Known for bringing positive, energetic sets to dancefloors across Hanoi and Vietnam.Originally from Cornwall, England, Hocking began DJing a decade ago whilst at university in Birmingham, and soon after picked up a residency at the infamous Rainbow Club. Hocking has a passion for finding hidden gems from the 90s and 00s and blending these with an array of modern electronic sounds, always sustaining a positive energy on the dancefloor. This could be anything on the electronic music spectrum from house to trance, electro, and rave. He’s now cemented his place in Vietnam over the past 3 years, bringing this sound to clubs and events such as Savage, The Electric Bazaar, and (Re)Treat festival.

Saint Guel

Filipino artist Saint Guel. An artist to keep an eye on. Miguel Santiago aka Saint Guel basks in dance music — his being distinctly warm and clean-cut. The Filipino DJ/producer started behind the decks at 15 and tinkered with personal production two years after. Since then, he’s carefully carving his corner: an altogether irresistibly groovy one. Across his recent releases, "Caught Up" (FuFu Records) "Still Life” (More Rice Records / Thailand) and “Over and Over / For The Floor” (Transit Records / Philippines) are easily breaking through as foreseeable dance floor bangers post-pandemic.

Emel Rowe

Emel is a Manila based, Melbourne born Vibe Manager, Music Curator, and Party Facilitator. After holding a residency at now defunct Time in Manila, Emel moved onto spreadthe good sound to anyone that would listen. Frustrated with the local landscape he went on, with 5 other crazy people, to start the party series UNKNWN. Now, 4 years in, there's no sign of UNKNWN or Emel slowing down anytime soon.

DOTT

For over a decade, DOTT has been a key ingredient in the ever maturing underground house and techno scene of SE Asia. The Bangkok local is known for his signature style of basslines and their variety and evolution throughout his productions. His sound is best described as playful, sleazy and moody with hypnotizing elements; a unique fusion of raw house and techno grounded in their central foundations. He fosters an endless collection of unreleased productions that have allowed him to refne his style, producing one track every day for extended periods of time.DOTT fully expresses himself in the booth. People experience his personalitythrough the mood and feeling of the tracks and the atmosphere hisselections create on the dancefoor. During extended sessions, he prefers to exclusively use his own catalog as it allows him the truest form of expression of his artistry.A driving force of Thailand’s underground music scene for some time, when looking at the bigger picture this becomes even more evident. As one of the founders of “More Rice”, he has released obscure dance music from the regions up and coming talents and built connections to the global scene.DOTT took things even further, turning ‘More Rice’ into Thailand’s frst record store that specializes in electronic dance music. Notable diggers have been spotted here sifting through the crates for undiscovered gold.Despite the ever changing trends in Asia, DOTT has never strayed from his path in the pursuit of greater notoriety. It’s this commitment to his art form that has brought him the respect of his peers and put him behind the decks of every important club and festival in the region. Now with a scheduled performance at Craig Richard’s esteemed Houghton Festival, DOTT is set to share his story with the world.

Manikk

Inserting his mind into the electronic universe, Manikk has taken a firm grip within this space. Fixating over hard hitting genres and styles, his curations have flares of different techniques and tweaks, whilst keeping the motions flowing and the ears keen. With tales of trophies he has collected from the golden 90’s and future elements, his journey is ever adapting and mixes also seamlessly keep a flooding of bass warmth, fresh feelings and crushing dance floor tech jives, even saying hello to hypnotizing disco.

DI LINH

Emerging from Hanoi, Di Linh is a young artist from Vietnam. Coming from humble beginnings, her musical path has grown expeditiously over the years. The young DJ has been making a name for herself and her mark on the dance floors by using a diverse and colorful music selection. She is also a resident DJ at Savage, The Observatory and Equation Festival. Di Linh flawlessly brings her taste of music from north to south around Vietnam and just made her debut in Europe and Korea recently. Each space gives her different inspiration as she is consistently developing herself to ensure the audience falls into a trance whilst also staying true to herself. She knows how to lead audiences' emotions into her own story, leaving them with a strong impression after each set through a variety of sounds such as Disco, House and Techno.

Ouissam

It would be wrong to start talking about where Ouissam comes from – after a decade in Asia, he’s now something of a regional entity that has managed to change the dance music scene wherever he has laid down roots. His approach to a dance floor is as simple as it is intuitive and elegant: nothing that can make a room shudder with joy is barred from his selections. As the founder of Hong Kong’s Cliche Records, he was one of the first in that city to cultivate a disco-house-techno synthesis that shifted the understanding of what could be danced to there. He went on to create the magnetic Homesick and Fragrant Harbour labels, before suddenly setting his sights on Hanoi in Vietnam, where he has established the dance mecca Savage where he runs the monthly queer night Snug. And on top of all that, he found time to curate the coveted Equation festival. But beyond his achievements, you find a DJ with pure love and appreciation for the power of music, and one that has learned how to harness this love into something that can be transmitted to his dance floors. Moving effortlessly between disco, house and techno, long-lost gems collide with cutting-edge groove to produce a sonic aesthetic that is simply irresistible.

Roza Terenzi

Roza Terenzi’s productions are prime for interstellar communication; sublime mind dance, warehouse bleeps and dawn-ready breaks that will inevitably find union between earth people and other beings. Since moving from Perth to Melbourne in 2016, her immense DJ style and consummate live sets at Inner Varnika, Meredith and Strawberry Fields have cemented her as a vital component of Australia's dance music mecca. Devoted to her local scene with releases via Butter Sessions, Bizarro, Pelvis and Voyage, Terenzi's spent the majority of 2018/2019 answering international calls. Extensively touring UK/Europe, India and North America, she's brought her bush doof energy to Primavera, Dekmantel, Lente Kabinet and Honcho Campout, twisting club havens Säule, Pickle Factory, De School, Robert Johnson, Closer and Nowadays. This time on the road has only strengthened her production output. Inaugurating Planet Euphorique with Vancouver likemind DJ Zozi (aka D. Tiffany), she's released quasi-cosmic atmospherics on Dekmantel and her signature alien beatdown on Kalahari Oyster Cult, while remixing 90s rave masters DJ Trance and Darwin Chamber and new wave electroids Assembler Code and Jensen Intercepter.
